Botanical illustration originally played a large role in directing my focus towards the painting of figurines. It took 15 years, but the figurine paintings eventually led me back to flowers. The unique problems presented by flowers required me to modify my approach, and now I'm taking what I've learned back to the painting of figurines and back again to flowers. These are the flower paintings which preceded (and sometimes accompanied) the more recent flowers/figurines body of work.
