The one hour cruise at Lake Minnewanka is a relaxing excursion not far from the town of Banff.
Moraine Lake, near Lake Louise, is mobbed with tourists but still spectacular. Take a walk on the easy Lakeshore Trail and climb a few steps for the view from the Rockpile.
A visit to Lake Louise usually includes the moderately strenuous hike to Lake Agnes and its famous teahouse.

One of the most popular hikes near Banff is at Johnston Canyon on the Bow Valley Parkway. It's an easy hike to the Lower Falls and only a little more difficult to continue on to the Upper Falls with beautiful views of Johnston Creek all the way.
A short but steep walk takes you to the incredibly blue Peyto Lake on the Icefields Parkway (an easy trail can be accessed from the handicapped parking lot).
Two-Jack Lake is directly off of the Lake Minnewanka Scenic Drive.
A short distance up the Mount Norquay Scenic Drive takes you to this overlook of Banff.
You can walk or drive to the several Vermillion Lakes and views of Mount Rundle.
