Rocky Mountain National Park
from Bob Cantor's National Parks Photo Gallery

The Bear Lake area provides many excellent destinations for hikes of anywhere from 1 hour to an entire day, but be sure to get there early to avoid the crowds (and don't forget to consider the altitude when planning the hike). This picture was taken just a short distance up the Glacier Gorge Trail.
A moderate day-hike up the Glacier Gorge trail will take you Mills Lake. Continue even further to get to Black Lake.
A different fork in the Glacier Gorge trail will take you to The Loch. It's about the same distance as Mills Lake. From here you can continue on to Timberline Falls or Andrews Glacier.
I believe this picture of Beaver Meadows and what might be the Big Thompson River were taken in readily accessible locations near Moraine Park.
